After a virus turns most of LA into Zombies, misanthrope Jaime Lopez refuses evacuation and chooses to stay in his apartment. He survives by hunting, scavenging, and not sticking his neck out for anyone!!

Jaime’s building is in territory controlled by Flacco, the ruthless leader of a gang of SCAVS. When Flacco’s cat Fleas dies, he sends the gang to find a new one. Destiny is a loyal aide and the original owner of Fleas but blames Flacco for her death. Her resentment puts her on a collision course with him.

Troubles begin when Troy and his cat Jonesy break into Jaime’s building. Jaime wants them out because he hates cats even more than people. But he is also allergic and reluctantly agrees to let them stay for one night in exchange for medicine. Troy also claims Jonesy can scare zombies.

The next day, a Scav tries to steal Jonesy. He dies, but Jaime gets seriously injured. Troy stays to help him recover, and a friendship blooms. But when Flacco kills Troy after a battle for Jonesy and leaves Destiny for dead for disobeying orders, Jaime is forced to care for her and an animal he despises.

To survive Zombies and Flacco’s vow to get Jonesy, Jaime must overcome his disdain for humanity and find the strength to battle his inner demons. Maybe with the help of a little someone who might be special after all.
