Gustavo Morales is a Venezuelan writer and director based in Los Angeles. He holds a JD from Santa Maria University in Caracas, and an MFA from the David Lynch School of Cinematic Arts in Iowa.

Before focusing on screenwriting, Gustavo worked for a decade in the editorial department of Smith Barney Citigroup. He served as Chief Editor of El Nuevo Cojo, an alternative newspaper in Spanish published in New York City, and is the founder of Venciclopedia, a wiki project about Venezuela.

Gustavo wrote and directed "The Lookout", a thriller/drama about a cop who marries a woman involved in the murder of his wife. This is his first feature film and is currently in post-production. He also produced and directed the short film "The Nagging Wife" and co-directed the pilot for "Big Sky Adventures".

In "Jonesy", Gustavo mixes drama, action and dark humor to deliver a punchy and satisfying story of redemption and survival during trying times. All without distracting from the character study at the heart of the screenplay.
